The Donkeys

 
Highford has two famous residents :-

Samson

and    Pierre

The donkeys belong to Bart and Sue Kelly who own the famous Clovelly Donkeys.

Sammy and Pierre will usually come and say hallo if you lean on their gate.
PLEASE DON'T FEED THEM !! - for their safety as well as yours.

Sam and Pierre live at Highford because they are stallions and Sammy bullies the smaller donkeys at Clovelly.

They come from Tolouse in south-west France and were bought because we needed to breed some donkeys that were big enough for large children - and small adults - to ride.

Pierre has a son called Peter who is bigger than Pierre.

Sammy has a daughter called Sarah who is still a baby but very big !

All the donkeys are trained using
Parelli Natural Horsemanship 
and  we have joined the International Horse Agility Club
so that we can take part in horse agility competitions.
Here are the stallions enjoying their new toys - a bridge and a pedestal.

Pierre knows Sammy is the Boss but he says

 "I've got the bridge..........."
